DMX dimmer project progress reportWed, Jun 17 2009Posted by Hugh Blemings So I figured I should put something up here rather than letting Jon have all the fun :) Most of the writing I've been doing for Practical Arduino so far has been in the intro and reference sections which has been pretty interesting to work through. We're hoping to provide enough material to fill in the gaps for people from a software background when tinkering with hardware. Sorta help you understand why it works when you mash these different bits together. I have been doing a bit of project work too, the photo below is from the DMX dimmer project - needed to double check the MOSFET drive circuit would work as expected.
Nothing of great note until you realise that the Surface mount part is about 2.5 x 1.5mm and has two MOSFETs in it good for a few hundred mA each. Needless to say I soldered that puppy onto the test jig with a microscope, not that it came out all that neat mind...
